Well, I finally made it to Vegas—and as you can see from the above photo, I’m not the only one!
It’s been a very different experience from past trips. For starters, rather than just grinding Bracelet events every day, I’ve already played tournaments at four different venues. Results so far…
Aria: 0/1, -$600
Golden Nugget: 0/2, -$1,200
WSOP: 0/5, -$5,700
Wynn: 1/1, +$15,879
Total: 1/9, +$8,379
Not bad.
The other obvious difference is that without the Rio’s vast, hot, free parking lot to pull into every day, I’ve been scrambling to game the system and avoid exorbitant fees. Got dropped off at the Nugget to avoid the parking garage ($50), walked from another casino with free parking to avoid the WSOP parking ($23) and when I’ve had no choice but to use the garages, I’ve tried to split costs with friends. These things add up when you’re a nit!
I’m planning on taking a few shots at the Colossus over the next couple days, before playing my first Main Event since 2016 (likely) starting on Monday. Good luck to me.
But first, catching some WNBA action tonight! The Liberty are in town to upset the Aces. Much better action at the arena than at the tables, usually.
How is everyone else’s poker summer going??
